Visualisation

We have all used visualisation at some time in our life- most of us just don’t realise it. Have you ever created a picture in your mind or thought about what you were going to be doing the next day? That is visualisation. It doesn’t have to be an actual image that you create in your mind as not all of us work with pictures.  As long as you can get a sense of the image that you want to create that is enough.

For instance if I ask you to imagine where you lived when you were 5 years old I am sure you will get some sens of that time in your life. Does it show up as pictures? Then you are a visual person. Does it show up more as a feeling or sensation of that time? Then you are kinesthetic. Does it show up as things your mother said to you or people speaking? Then you are more of an auditory person.

Now that you know how you perceive things, when I talk of visualisation it encompasses all of these modes of creating. When I create a vision board I tend to use words pictures and emotion to really bring it to life. This is why I prefer to create them using my own images rather that pictures fromm agazines. By creating the image you put more emotion and feeling behind it and connect more with your subconscious mind. The subconscious is the deep hidden aspect of yourself that we want to tap into and stimaulte so that it continues working for you long after you have stopped creating your vision board.

A great place to hang your vision board is somewhere you will see it daily. I have used the inside of my wardrobe door and the outside of my glass shower. Both of these places are highly visible and somewhere that you start your day. Your mind is more open and receptive first thing in the morning and last thing at night. Placing your vision board somehwere that you will see it at these times gives you maximum input and makes it more effective.

try using visualisation to creat the outconmes that you want during your day. Start  walking yourself through your day in the morning, before you get out of bed. If you have a meeting or presentation imaginge it going well and achieving your desired outcome. The more often you do this the more you will notice coincidences and synchronicites showing up in your life. Things will start to flow and seem more effortless.

You have nothing to lose so try it and see,

What If…..?

What if you could live your best life? What would that look like? How would it feel?
The more you can engage your senses in the idea of your best life the greater your chances of making it happen. The best way to do this is with a vision board so find a large sheet of paper and get started.
One of the best ways to desing a vision board is by actually drawing the pictures yourself. remember this is just for you so it doesn’t need to be the next Michelangelo! The idea is to get your intentions down on paper and allow your subconcious mind to start drawing things toward you. If you limit this by using deifnite pictures of actual objects or places then your subconciuos can only draw those things to you. This sets up limits and boundaries and expectations all of which slow the energy of the Universe.
Try to get as much colour into your vision board. Colour invites energy and keeps your board looking vibrant and inviting. It also gives it more depth.
Make sure you use words on your board as well. we are all multi dimensional beings and our subconcious mind owrks on different levels at different times. By having visual, auditory (words or affirmations), and kinesthetic (feelings or emotional phrases) you interact with your vision board on many levels at once.
The most important thing is to have fun with it. Engage your inner child and play. If there were no limits for what you could create what would you choose??
When you’ve finished make sure you hang it somewhere you will see it everyday. Pay attention to the small coincidences that start to occur that are moving you closer to your goals. Good Luck!
